Trouble uploading your photos?
First, upload your photos from your digital camera or cell phone to your computer. You can use a USB cable, memory stick, camera docking station or email the photo from your cell phone and then save on your computer. Make sure you know which folder the photo is saved in! We recommend using a folder named "Photos" on your desktop so it is easier to find. Make sure you have saved your photos in the .JPEG format. Second, check your file size for each photo. We strongly recommend photo file sizes less than 500kb or 1024 x 768 for faster upload. Don't worry about about editing your photos since we optimize all photos to maximize our site performance. Need help resizing your photos? Click on this link www.picresize.com for fast and easy resizing. You're all set! Now when you click the Upload button on the Place An Ad page, just go to the photo you have saved on your computer.

Can't find your ad online?
Let's make sure your ad is online. If you just placed your ad a few minutes ago, it generally takes less than 2 hours to appear online. The fastest way to locate a listing is to do a Zip Code only search with your Make and/or Model. Go to either the Home or Find tab. Then enter in your Make, Model (if applicable) and enter in your zip code. Make sure you choose "Zip Code only" search. If there are multiple pages of listings, look on the left side and choose "Private Seller" only and that will filter out all the dealer listings. That should do it. If you still cannot find your ad then that means your ad is probably still in Review. Email us at verify@traderonline.com or click on the Chat link to contact us to activate your ad.

A few more words about Search:
Search is very subjective and differs from person to person. If you ask 10 people what the best way to search for a vehicle is you will probably get 10 different answers. We offer many different ways for buyers to search: Buyers can search by year, make, model, type, and zip code by distance. We also have a Browse feature to search by type, make, state and dealers.

We also have different types of listings depending on the features you choose. A seller sometimes cannot find their listing because they are looking under a different tier. Our types of listings are: Premium- the first ads that appear in any search. You must purchase either the Premium feature upgrade or the Top of the Line package (Cycle Ads Only) to get a Premium listing. Standard- all other Private Seller ads appear as Standard listings.

Problems on the checkout page?

  • Make sure if you have placed an ad with us before or created a My Trader account you are logging in as a returning customer. If you do not do this you will be told that your email address is already on file.
  • Make sure the address you have entered for your credit card is the same as your billing address. These must match.
  • Double check your credit card and Security code numbers. The Security codes are 3 digits for Visa, Mastercard and Discover and located on the back of the card. American Express has a 4 digit code that is located on the front of the card.
  • Locked out? Repeated failed attempts can result in being locked out of the checkout page. To get your account unlocked, please contact Customer Service at ads@traderonline.com or use the Chat feature on our site.

  • Question about magazine ads?
    We no longer publish magazines for Cycle, RV or Boat. The traffic to our websites has exploded over the past decade and magazine sales diminished to the point where it became clear the overwhelming number of buyers and sellers prefer to use the websites instead of print publications.
